Information about Meetings:
During the school year, the following meetings are held on a regular
basis. Please call the office for the exact time and location of
the meeting or program.
General business meetings:
Most Fraternities and Sororities have chapter meetings on Monday
after Dinner-exact times vary. A schedule is available at Greek
Life.
Panhellenic Council Meetings
Held two Wednesdays each month at 4:00 P.M.
Interfraternity Council Presidents Council
Held two Wednesdays each month at 5:30 P.M.
Interfraternity/Panhellenic Council Executive Meetings
Held on Tuesday at 4:00 P.M.
Round Tables
Scheduled as needed.
Judicial Board Hearings.
Scheduled when needed, usually Tuesdays at 6:00 P.M. Judicial Board
training is held once each quarter on a Tuesday early in the term.
Social Chair/President Round Tables
Held the first Thursday of each term at 6:00 P.M. and as needed
thereafter.
Public Relations, Risk Management (fire and health safety), and
Recruitment Workshops
Held on a semi-regular basis, usually on Thursdays at 4:00 P.M.
or 6:00 P.M.
Recruitment Workshops for Chapter Recruitment Chairs
Held on Thursdays at 4:00 P.M. during spring quarter and as needed
during the year.
Recruitment Chairs and Rush Counselor Meetings
Held weekly and scheduled by the council officers at the beginning
of each term.The current schedule is available at Greek Life.
Educational Programs
Held two to three times each term, the Councils either sponsor or
co-sponsor an Endorsement Program which is usually a nationally-recognized
speaker or program.
Some examples include:
* Kristen's Story - A mother's account of her daughters date rape
and eventual suicide
* By The Numbers - A national program on alcohol, AIDS, and other
health issues
* One Night Stand - Mike Green's program on the consequences of
alcohol abuse
* Dr. Drew - an interactive program on health and social issues,
hosted by Dr. Drew of MTV's Loveline
* When Rites Become Wrong - Hank Nuwer's presentation on athletic,
military, Club, and Greek hazing
* Traditional Events sponsored by Interfraternity, Panhellenic Council
and individual chapters
Many chapters have Parent Weekend in conjunction with the University
of Oregon Parent Program. In the fall, this weekend is held in conjunction
with Homecoming and in the spring it is held the third weekend in
May. Each chapter decides when they will hold their own parent and/or
Mom/Dad weekend, usually also twice a year. Contact specific chapters
for more details.
