Sorority Recruitment at the
University of Oregon continues throughout the school year.
There is a Fall Formal Recruitment process that
lasts a week at the beginning of fall term. 300-500 women
participate in Fall Formal Recruitment. It is a fairly structured
process to allow women to attend each sorority's events.
At this time most sororities participate in recruiting large
numbers of women to become new members and build their strength
and sisterhood for the upcoming year.
Following that, some sororities in need of more members participate
in year round Informal Recruitment. This process is much less structured.
Additionally, a variety of recruitment events are held on an individual
basis by certain sororities mid to late fall, winter and spring
terms. These are by invitation. Each process is a great way to meet
many new people and learn about the opportunities available through
sororities.
Fraternity Recruitment at the University of
Oregon is very different from sorority recruitment. Recruitment
events are held typically on an individual basis continually.
They have small to large groups of potential new members and
current members get together at their chapter house and/or
another venue. They can also recruit during the summer. During
the Fraternity Fall Formal Recruitment process, fraternities
publicize and invite men for their own events. Fraternity
recruitment events throughout the year are a great way to
meet many people, have fun, and learn about the opportunities
available through fraternities. |
